If any Free Agent signing in here happens to retire while he is still under contract, that contract will stand. You will not get off the hook for that player retiring. You will be able to release that player under the standard drop fee. (75% for the current season, 50% for future season)

Original contracts in here will be able to get off the hook without penalty, if they retire. For example, Joey Votto suddenly retires next season due to injury/no longer wants to play. The team that owned him here would be able to drop him without penalty.
- His contract is an original in here because he wasn't a free agent signing and was a part of the original rosters.
