SP Brandon McCarthy (5M 2014) (Outgoing payment of 4M from Padres on McCarthy's 2014 salary)
I hate moving McCarthy since his salary at 5M in 2014 is very reasonable and when he's healthy, he can put together a solid season. I was mainly looking for a hitter, though there was nothing out there - only bats with bad contracts. I have a lot of rotation depth from all the recent trades I made, so he was expendable. Also, I get to save the 5M which I was looking at as well since I'll have arbitration eligible players who will demand raises. As for Cisnero, I kind of like his arm. I don't know what to expect, though he's a power arm in the BP who might be able to have success in the late innings, and when the Astros traded Veras back in July, he was rumoured to take over the closers role. He's a nice arm to stash down in my minors. I'll regret trading McCarthy because I'm sure he surpasses his 5M in value in 2014.
