Beginning League Info
- Please include the following in your team thread; 25 Man Roster, Minor League System, Draft Picks, and Transactions.
- The roster lock date will be Aug 1st. If the player is in your organization on that date, you own him.
- If your team starts out over the salary cap, you may get a one time "free drop" for any player on your roster. You will have no obligations for the current year or future.
- When making your rosters, please keep in mind that any player under a 2013 contract will be a free agent at seasons end, if he doesn't receive an extension by November 1st. If you have any players that expire, do not factor them into your cap number. Those players will be off the books at season end. Just include there name and position.
- Players who will expire at season end may not be traded for this season only (Unless they get extended by November 1st). You will get a discount on these players based on the amount of time owned.
Team Finances
- 2014 Salary Cap : 100M
- 2015 Salary Cap : 105M
- If a team goes over the salary cap during the season, he will be warned, and must get under within 72 hours to avoid penalties. (Fines, or forfeiting games, or both.)
- You are allowed to be over the cap in the offseason (15M max). However, you must be under by the 1st game of the season, or face the above penalties.
- No team will be allowed to have more than 50M incoming, or 50M outgoing in any season.
- No cap may be traded, only money on players contracts.
- Money can be traded for the current season, and 1 season in advanced.
- No team may make any trade that puts their team more than 15M over the salary cap at any time.
Free Agency:
- The max years a free agent can sign is 5 years. A player can sign any contract 1-5 years, unless that player is 35 or older. If a player is 35 or older, the max contract he can sign is a 2 year contract.
- The minimum starting bid is 0.5M
- The minimum bid increase is 0.1M
- Free Agent signings can not be traded/released until May 1st.
- A bid must stand for 24 hours to sign that player.
- You may not edit or delete any bids you make. If you need to make a change, make a new post.
- You may go over the cap to sign a free agent. However, you may only go over the cap by 5M.
- To win a player, you must offer the most amount of money. For example:
Team A offers: 1 year 10M a year = 10M total
Team B offers: 4 year 2M a year = 8M total
Team A would win the bidding due to the total money.
- International Free Agents who sign Major League contracts, will be eligible for free agency here.
Contracts:
- We will average out our salaries for players. For example:
Nick Markakis - 14:$15M, 15:$17.5M option
15 + 17.5 = 32.5M
32.5M / 2 = 16.25
Nick Markakis's contract would be : [16.25M 2014+]
The "+" indicates an option year.
- We will ignore all buyout's in players contracts. Any vesting or player options will be converted to team options
- If a player was apart of the original league rosters, and he is still on his original contract from the start of the league, and that player retires, you will be off the hook completely. However, if a player retires that was a free agent signing, or had a contract extension accepted in here, you will not be off the hook, and you will be subject to the standard drop fees.
Arbitration:
- All players will be subject to the standard 6 years of team control. 3 years of Pre-Arb, and 3 years of Arb. (Unless the player becomes a super 2, 2 years of Pre-Arb, 4 years of Arb.)
- For players that are currently pre-arbitration eligible, there contracts will be 500,000, (0.5M). As long as a player is Pre-Arb in real life, he is Pre-Arb here. Any player who has not surpassed 50 IP, or 150 AB in a single season, will not have there salary triggered, unless you have them on your MLB roster. If you have them on your roster, they will be the standard (500,000) for Pre-arbitration eligible players. This is mostly for prospects who get a cup of coffee in the bigs. You wont owe them until the marks are past.
- For players that are going through Arbitration, you will get what they earn on a year to year basis in real life. You have the option to accept or decline his salary figure. By declining, he will be placed on the waiver wire for 72 hours, the worst record will receive the player. If he goes unclaimed, he will enter the free agent pool. Declining arbitration comes at no cost to you, it is free of any obligations.
- If a player signs an extension during his Pre-Arb, or Arb years, you will have the option to take the extension, or that player will enter Free Agency in the offseason if you do not take it. You may choose to pickup the yearly breakdown of the extension, or choose AAS.
- If a player ends his arbitration eligibility and has no contract in place to pick up or options, he will become a free agent. However, you will receive a discount on that player in free agency. Also, that player will have until 1/1 in the offseason for him to sign a contract in real life. If he does sign a contract before that date, you will have the option to pick it up, or decline it and send him to Free Agency without a discount.
- Veterans who expire will not have an option to pick up a contract in real life at seasons end. Only Arbitration eligible players will be eligible to wait until January 1st for a new deal.
- If any arbitration eligible player is non-tendered in real life, or outrighted off a teams 40 man roster, he will automatically be assigned a 500,000 (0.5M) salary for the upcoming season.
Discounts Policy
If a player is owned for more than an entire (1+) season : 20% discount off final free agency price
If a player is owned for the entire (1) season : 15% Discount
If a player is owned for less than an entire seasons : 10% discount
- YOU HAVE TO WIN THE BIDDING IN ORDER TO RETAIN THAT PLAYER AND GET THE DISCOUNT.
For Example:
I owned John Doe for one entire season, so I would get a 15% discount.
I win the bidding for John Doe @ 3 years, 10M per year
After the 15% discount, he would be mine at 3 years at 8.5M a year. The math: (10 x .15 = 1.5) (10 - 1.5 = 8.5M)
Releasing a Player
- You may release any player, at any time.
- You will owe 75% of that players salary for that season when you release him, and will owe 50% throughout the rest deal.
- You must follow the correct format when releasing a player. You must post the players name in the title, and how much is owed throughout the life of the deal. For Example:
"Orioles Release OF Luis Matos [1M 2015] - Owe 0.75M for 2013, 0.5M for 2014 and 2015"
- When releasing an arbitration, or pre-arbitration player, you will owe 75% of that players salary for the current season, but will be off the hook after the current season.
- You may release pre-arbitration and arbitration players in the offseason for free, the rule above only applies in-season.
- When a pre-arbitration, or arbitration player is waived, all teams will have a 3 day (72 hour window from the post) window to make a claim on the player. After the 3 days, the claiming team with the worst record will be awarded that player.
- If a player goes unclaimed through the 72 hour window, he will enter free agency and will be free to bid on.
Claiming a Player
- You may claim any un-owned player at any time.
- The un-owned player must have big league experience. (A day of service time, or an appearance). (Veterans can't be claimed, the player must be going through the Pre-Arb/Arbitration process.) Veterans have to be bid on in free agency if un-owned.
- You may NOT claim prospects. Un-owned prospects are eligible for our first year player draft. The same applies for International free agents.
- If a player does not have an appearance, or a day of service time, and he is being promoted to the big league team, you may claim this player. However, you will need to post proof that he has been called up. (Multiple Sources). If for some reason the player does not get called up, and was claimed, the player will be removed from that team and the player will still be un-owned until he gets promoted.
- When you claim a player, he will automatically recieve a salary of (500,000) for the season, and you will inherit his contract status. For example: If Orioles 1B Chris Davis was unowned, he would be 500,000 for the claming season, and he would be ARB in 2015. You look at the players contract status in real life.
- You may not make a claim on a player if it puts you over the cap during the season, or 5M over the cap, in the offseason.
- This is a first come, first serve claiming system. You will be awarded the player immediately upon posting, assuming your claim is valid.
- You may not claim players while the draft is in progress.
Scoring Format
- Individual categories, 1 win per category.
- Offensive Categories: AVG, OPS, HR, RBI, SB, R
- Pitching Categories: ERA, WHIP, K, W, SV, HLD
- All teams must meet these minimum requirements each matchup, or fines and forfeiture of draft picks will be enforced:
- Minimum IP per matchup: 20 IP
- Minimum AB per matchup: 70 AB
- Injuries and player demotions will be considered if you fail to reach the minimums.

Minor League Rosters
- Minor league rosters will be unlimited.
- However, you will be given 40 "free" roster spots. Every prospect you own over 40, will be a 0.2M fee.
For Example:
If I own 45 prospects, I would owe 1M in "fees" for having 5 over the limit. 5 x 0.2 = 1M
You can have as many prospects as you want, as long as you can afford the fees without going over the cap.
- The Fees will count towards your cap.
- You may place veterans, Pre-Arbitration, and Arbitration players in your minor leagues. As long as it is deemed you aren't tanking. You will have to pay there salary as well as the fee if you are over the 40 prospect limit. (You will not have to pay a Pre-Arb player if he has yet to accumulate 50 IP or 150 AB in any season he has played in.)
Draft
- We will hold an annual First year player draft after the Playoffs.
- The draft will consist of rounds 1-5.
- The players eligible for our draft include:
Any player that was drafted and signed
Any un-owned prospect in our league
Any international free agents that have signed minor league contracts
Any un-owned Pre-Arbitration or Arbitration eligible player.
- All teams will have 5 tradable draft picks. Rounds 1-5.
- During the draft, the waiver wire will be shut down. You may release players, but you may not claim any.
- You may trade draft picks 1 year in advance to the current year. For example, if it is 2013, you can trade 2013 picks, and 2014 picks. You may not trade any picks in any other year.
- After rounds 1-5 are complete, we will hold rounds 6-12, which are optional.
- For Rounds 6-12, you will submit a list of up to 20 players for which you want to select in rounds 6-12. The order will be based on the final standings. We will take the players in order from your list and go round to round. These lists will be sent via PM to an individual account that will not be accessed until rounds 6-12.
- These picks may not be traded, and you do not have to submit a list if you so choose.
